George the second by the grace of God King of great
[red seal] Britain France & Ireland, Defender of the faith [etc]
To the Sherriff of New Hanover County in our said province, Greeting
We command you to take the body of James Campbell of Wilmington in the
County of New Hanover in the province aforesaid Innkeeper, otherwise called James
Campbell of Newton in the County of New Hanover victualler (if to be found --
within your bailiwick) and him safely keep so that you have him before
Our Chief Justice and his associates at the next General Court to be held for
the said province at the Court house in Edenton on the last Tuesday in July
next then & there to answer to Samuel Bridgen of a plea of Debt for seven
hundred and seventy pounds current money of the said province, damage
fifty pounds, herein fail not and have you there this writ.
