Drug charges were the most frequent type of crime (23%) committed by new entries to probation in 2007, followed by driving while impaired
(15%), other traffic violations (12%), and assault (11%). One third of parole entries during 2007 were driving while impaired (33%). Other
crimes were drugs charges - non trafficking (8%), robbery (7%), and murder second degree (5%). The most frequent crime category for post¬
release supervision cases was robbery (26%). Other crimes were assaults (23%), habitual felon (23%) followed by sexual assault (8%).
