(f ) Animals which the owner or claimant knew to be diseased,
or lmd notice thereof, at the time they crime into tlieir possession.

Animals which had the disease for which I hey were slaugh-
tered or which were destroyed by reason of exposure to the disease,
at the time of their arrival in the Stale.
(7i) Animals which have not been within the State of North
Carolina for at least one hundred and twenty days prior to the
discovery of the disease.
(/)
Where owner does not use reasonable cure in protecting ani¬
mals from disease.
(j ) Where owner lias failed to submit the necessary reports as
required by this act.
Site. 12. The owner must present his claim for indemnity to
the State Veterinarian for approval, and the claim shall lie sup¬
ported with the original report of the appraisers, the original
report of the sale of animals in the case of cattle destroyed on
account of tuberculosis, the certificate of the State or United States
Uureau of Animal Industry inspector, and a summary of the claim.
All of which shall constitute a part of the claim.
The owner must stale whether or not the animals are owned
entirely by liini or advise fully of any partnership, and describe
fully any mortgages or other liens against the animals.
Six. IS. The State Veterinarian is authorized, himself or by
his representative, to do all things specified in this act. Ail
moneys authorized t<> lie paid shall be paid from the Slate Treas¬
ury on warrant approved bv the Auditor, who is hereby authorized
to make such payment.
Sec. 1-1. A sum not to exceed live thousand dollars annually is
hereby appropriated to pay the indemnities as provided for in this
act out of funds not. otherwise appropriated.
Sec. 15. This act shall he in force from and after its ratifica¬
tion.

The General Assembly of Xorth Carolina do enact:
Sectiox 1. That the lands and buildings in the western part
of the city of Raleigh, now occupied and used as the Slate Prison
and the State Hospital for the Dangerous Insane, be, and the same
are hereby, transferred to the board of directors of the hospital
