March, and continue for one week for the trial of criminal cases
only. Thirteenth Monday after the first Monday in March to con
tinne for one week for the trial of civil cases only. Fourth Mon¬
day before the first Monday in September to continue for two weeks
for the trial of criminal cases and for the. hearing of motions on
the civil docket not requiring a jury. Seventh Monday after the
first Monday in September to continue for two weeks for the trial of
civil cases only.
Sec. 2. That all laws and points [parts] of laws in conflict with
this act are hereby repealed.
Sec. 3. That this act shall he in force from and after its rati¬
fication.
In the General Assembly read three times and ratified this 6th
day of March, 1903.
CHAPTER 405.
AN ACT TO ALLOW W. P. ORMOND, AN EX-CONFEDERATE
SOLDIER AND CITIZEN OF PITT COUNTY, TO PEDDLE
WITHOUT PAYING A LICENSE TAN.
The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:
Section 1. That W. P. Ormond, an ex-Confederat.e soldier and a
eitizen of Pitt County, be and he is hereby authorized and allowed
to peddle in the several counties of this State without paying a
peddler’s license: Provided, nothing herein contained shall be con¬
strued to allow him to sell intoxicating liquors: Provided further,
that this act shall cease to be of foree whenever the said W. P.
Ormond shall apply for and obtain a pension under the laws of
this State.
Sec. 2. That this act shall be in force from and after its rati¬
fication.
In the General Assembly read three times and ratified this 6th
day of March, 1903.
CHAPTER 466.
AN ACT TO PROHIBIT THE MANUFACTURE AND SALE OF
SPIRITUOUS LIQUORS WITHIN THREE MILES OF CARO
LINA CHRISTIAN COLLEGE AND FREF, WILL BAPTIST
THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY AT AYDEN, N. C.
The General Assembly of North Carolina, do enact:
Section 1. That, it shall be unlawful for any person or persons
to manufacture, sell or in any way dispose of for remuneration any
separate terms for
civil and criminal
cases.
Conflicting laws
repealed.
