Sec. 1. die il enacted by the General Assembly of the State Bo«l» politic.
of North-Carol ina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority
of the same, That Elizabeth D. Davis, Elizabeth Ivydeii,
Fhcbe Taylor, Sharali A. Taylor, Mary Ann Moore, Susan
Taylor, Sarah Jerkins, Mary 11, Wills, Catharine Taylor,
Eliza Allen, Eliza Chapman, Aim Bryan, Nancy Hay, Eliz¬
abeth A. Taylor, and their successors, be and arc hereby
constituted a body politic and corporate, by the name of the
Female Benevolent Society of Newborn, and by that name
shall have perpetual succession and a common seal, may sue
and be sued, acquire and transfer property, and pass all such
by-laws and regulations for their own government as shall
not be inconsistent with the constitution and laws of the
State and the United States.
Sec. 2. Be it f urther enacted, That this act shall bo in
force from and after its ratification, [Ratified the '3rd day
of February, 1S55.]
AX ACT TO EXCOURAGE TOE KILLIXG OF WOLVES IX JACKSOX Chap. 317.
COCXTY.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State $2 a head.

of the same, That the county court of Jackson county, a
majority of the jnstices of the peace being present, be em¬
powered and required to order the trustee of the county to
?ay to any person the sum of two dollars for each and every
Rolf’s scalp, or upon satisfactory evidence being produced
that the applicant or the person for whom he applies did
kill a Wolf or Wolves in the county of Jackson. ■
Sec. 2. Be it further enacted, That this act shall bo in
force from and after its ratification. [Ratified the Qth day
