Dillsboro
In the turn-of-the-century boomtown of Dillsboro. you won't find your favorite fast-food eatery,
a chain motel, or a strip mall. But you’ll feel right at home
with the accommodations that time left behind. And you certainly won’t go hungry.
Time has its plan* in Dillsboro.
The trains. which have always
been a major part of this
small town, run on lime, ol course.
The town itself, however, seems to
he a microcosm captured in lime
and tucked away on Highway I II
between the Great Smokv Mountains
National Park and the luckascgcc
River, just -15 minutes west of
Asheville. Dillsboro is a boomtown.
but — unlike the urban sprawl
and clutter often associated with

The town that wouldn’t die
Dillsboro was founded in 1882
when William Allen and Alice Knloe
Dills moved there from what was
then the county seal of Webster.
