Quartex. Below are a few tip & tricks for searching in Quartex:
• If searching for a phrase or title use quotations
Example: "State Bird” not State Bird
• The default search looks for your search terms on every
page of every digital item in every digital collection. To
see your search terms in the search results, click on the
title thumbnail. The term(s) you searched will be
highlighted in yellow in the viewer, and listed below it in
the Search results tab, page by page.
• Use the Advanced Search option to apply Boolean search

• To search within a record. Use the search box that
appears to the right of the title to search both the
metadata and any full-text searchable publications.
• If you are getting too many results, try the Filter results
settings to the left of your search results list.
• Narrow down all results by publication information such as
creator, publication date, or issuing agency.
• Use topical filters like time period (of coverage, not
publication), or place (of coverage, not publication).
• In some collections, you can also select on factors like
format, source collections, or serial/uniform titles.
• If you are still getting too many results, changing the
Search type filter to “Metadata" will turn off the Full text
searching. Only text provided by SLNC staff about each
digital item (title, author, subject, notes, etc.) will be
searched.
