Dear Maud,
Your sweet letter made us homesick. Many
times on the trip I thought of Kitty Hawk and our
little parties with you as the evening sun was going
down. It is painful to think that we may not see you
and Frank until late spring.
Wiley is a mess and the doctors give him
a month or so at best a year. We spent two hours in
the hospital every morning and two hours every after-
noon. He came home the day before we left, but for
how long I don't know. We spent twenty-four hours
in San Antonio with Florence's sister whom she had
not seen for thirty years. She hadn't changed except
that she too is far from well. The girls look very much
alike. In New Orleans we were three days with the
Feiblemans. They knocked themselves out showing
Florence the sights. It was all new to Florence
but I tagged along. They took us to the best eating
houses where of course I put on weight.
