NORTH CAROLINA.
In General elssembtij.
Resolved, That his Excellency the Governor be requested to continue
his endeavors to have the statue of Washington, the work ot the Mar¬
quis Cnnova, brought to some convenient port in this country in some
one of Die public vessels of the United States, and that he take all ne¬
cessary steps, upon its arrival at such port, to liave it conveyed to this
place.
Resolved, That his Excellency the Governor be authorised and re¬
quested

take all such measures as in his judgment are proper and ne¬
cessary to secure the re payment of the four thousand Kn ee hundred and
forty-six dollars drawn out of the treasury upon the warrant of Mr.

Resolved, That Jeremiah Slade, Simmons J. Baker and Thomar Brick-
ell be, and are hereby appointed Commissioners to enquire into the bu¬
siness relating to the claim for lands in Bertie cuuuty of the Tuskarora
nation of Indians ; and also into the expediency of ttie state of Nortlt-
Carolina to make sale of the reversionary interests in said lands; and fur¬
ther to enquire into the claims of the several occupants of the lands to a
preference in purchase : and to report to the General Asssembly of )82i.
the result of their enquiries.

The committee of claims, to whom was referred the petition of James
Dysard, Lieutenant Colonel, -id the militia of Burke county, Report,
That they have had the said petition, together with all (he documents
hccompanyiti" the same, under consideration, and recommend the adop¬
tion of the following resolution :
Resolved. That the Public Treasurer be, and he is hereby directed to
pay James Dysard, of Burke county, the slim of one hundred dollars, and
that he be allowed the same in the settlement of his public accounts.
