(8) William Shine, born Sept. 26, 1768.
(9) Daniel Shine, born July 3, 1771.
(10) Nancy Shine, born Oct. 14, 1772.
Capt. Daniel Shine, J. P. (No. 6), son of Daniel Shine and
Elizabeth Greene, born May 10, 1729, married Barbara Franck
(daughter of John Martin Franck). Will probated in court,
May term, 1801, Jones County, N. C. The following are their
children, as mentioned in said will :
(1) Polly Shackelford,
(2) John,
(3) Susanna Wilton,
(4) Hannah Farnal,
(5) Daniel,
(6) James,
(7) Franck.
Col. James Shine (No. 6), son of Daniel Shine and Barbara
Franck, married Leah Yates. Served in “Revolution;” paid
off at Halifax, N. C., 1784 and 1785. Also served in North
Carolina Legislature, 1815 and 1816. Their children were :
(1) Daniel Y.
(2.) James Bryan.
(3) Hannah A., and others that cannot be recorded at
this date.
James Bryan Shine (No. 2), son of Col. James Shine and
Leah Yates, of New Bern, N. C., Jones County, married Miss
Rebecca Harrison, Nov. 19th, 1831. Their children were:
(1) Ann.
(2) Hannah A.
(3) Daniel Y.
(4) Simmons.
(5) Elizabeth.
(6) James.
(7) Virginia Harrison Shine (my mother).
