EASLEY REAPPOINTS JONES TO N.C. PUBLIC LIBRARIAN CERTIFICATION COMMISSION RALEIGH - Gov. Mike Easley has reappointed Corki Jones of Hickory to the N.C. Public Librarian Certification Commission. Jones is director at the Hickory Public Library. She is a member of the N.C. Library Association, American Library Association, N.C. Public Library Director’s Association, Hickory Kiwanis Club and is a Hickory International Council staff liaison. Jones received her bachelor’s degree in history from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her master’s in Librarianship from Emory University. The commission adopts rules and regulations to be followed in the certification of public librarians. It is authorized to establish and require written examinations for certified public librarian applicants. There are five members on the commission, each serving a four-year term.
