Mike Easley has appointed A. Jeff Earp of Wilmington to the Southeastern North Carolina Regional Economic Development Commission. Eaip is the president of Funston Company Inc., his family’s business that includes Funston Farms, Funston Land and Timber, and Navassa Land Co. Previously, he was the vice president of C.C. Grissom and Sons from 1990 to 2000. Earp received his bachelor’s degree from N.C. State University in 1986. The commission serves as the regional economic development marketing organization in Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Cumberland, Hoke, New Hanover, Pender, Richmond, Robeson, Sampson and Scotland counties.
