Mike Easley has appointed Christine J. Greene of High Point and reappointed Patricia S. Nystrom of Hampstead to the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors. Greene was a guidance counselor for Guilford County schools from 1998 to 2000. Previously, she was the vice chairman of the N.C. Boards for School Administrators. Greene received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the highest award given to a civilian in the state, in 2001 . She received her bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University and her master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Nystrom is a school counselor at North Topsail Elementary School and also has her own private practice. She has been a board member since 2000. Nystrom received her bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Wesleyan College and her master’s degree from the University of Chattanooga. The board examines and passes on the qualifications of all applicants for licenses and issues licenses and renewal licenses to successful applicants.
