PROVIDING FOR ADJOURNMENT SINE DIE OF THE 2013 REGULAR SESSION OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBL Y.
The House committee substitute to the 1st edition deletes all of the provisions of the 1st edition and replaces it with
the following.
States that when the Senate and House of Representatives (House) adjourn on August 6, 2014, they are adjourned
until August 14, 2014, at noon. During the Regular Session that reconvenes on August 14, 2014, only the following
may be considered: ( 1 ) bills vetoed by the Governor for the purpose of considering overriding the veto; (2) bills related
to claims or orders in litigation to which the State, its instrumentalities, or its officers are parties; (3) bills in which the
General Assembly makes an appointment or appointments to public office and which contain no other matter; and (4)
bills relatingto the following matters: coal ash management; environmental and natural resources laws; regulatory and
administrative reforms; health benefit plan coverage for the screening diagnosis, and treatment of autism spectrum
disorder; technical and other changes to revenue laws; and the confidentiality of unemployment compensation
information.
When the Senate and House adjourn on August 15, 2014, they are adjourned until November 17, 2014. at 6
pm. Duringthe November 1 7 Regular Session, only the following may be considered: ( 1 ) bills related to the structure,
operation, and funding of Medicaid; (2) bills relating to claims or orders in litigation to which the State, its
instrumentalities, or its officers are parties; (3) confinnations under GS 7A-45.1(alO) if it becomes law (found in the
Appropriations Act, (alO) requires upon the retirement, resignation, removal from office, death, or expiration of the
tenn of any special superior court judge on or after September 1, 2014, each judgeship to be filled for five-year term;
judgeship nominee is recommended by the Governor and confirmed by the General Assembly); and (4) a joint
resolution adjourningthe 2013 Regular Session sine die.
Amends the long title of this act. Provides that this resolution is effective upon ratification.
