Hon. Locke Craig
Raleigh, N.C.
My dear Sir: -
Replying to your inquiry I beg to advise that
while under the decisions of the Supreme Court if one is
a notary public and afterwards accepts and qualifies for anoth¬
er office he thereby vacates the office of notary public, still
I am of opinion that as long as he continued to exercise the
duties of a notary he would be a de facto officer, and his
acts would be valid.
Very truly yours
Attorney General.
