Pcrfoos concerned in the Paid Ships and Veflels: And whereas the Rates allowed for piloting VelTels
into the laid Inlet, by the before recited Act, ate inadequate to the Expence cf Boats and Hands pro¬
per to be employed in fucll Service :
A. D. 1770.
II. BE if therefore E nailed by the Governor , Council and AJfc
and by the Authority of the fame.
That from and after the I’irlt Day of March next, there lhall be paid and allowed to every Branch
Pilot, who lhall be provided with a good decked Boat, well fitted with Sails and Rigging, and who
lhall take Charge of any Ship cr Vufiel at Sea, the following Pilotage ; that is to fay.

FOR every $hip or Veflel that draws Nine Feet Water, or lels, from the Outfids of the Bar of
Occacark into Beacon Irtand Road, or any other Harbour where Vcfieis ufualiy anchor at, Four Shil¬
lings, Proclamation Money, per Foot. And
' FOR every VeiFeJ drawing Nine Feet Water, or upwards, Five Shillings, Proclamation Money,
per Foot; and that the Pilotage outwards be and remain the fame as mentioned in the before recited
Aft.
III. AND for the further Encouragement of Pilots to board VelTels at Sea, Br it further Enabled,
by the Authority aforejaid, .That when any Pilot lhall offer his Service to any Mailer ol a VelTel, bound
into the laid Inlet of 0 traced, he lhall be inttilfd, although the Mailer of inch Vtlicl lhall refufe to
employ him, to the lame Fees which he would have been intitled to if he had taken Charge of the faid
VelTel, and the Mailer lhall be obliged to pay the fame accordingly : And if any Ship or VelTel, ccm-
ing into the faid Inlet cf Occacock, and taking a I’ilot on Board, lhall be by contrary Winds, cr other-
wile, drove off the Coatl, the Mailer or Owner ol'Tuch VelTel lhall allow and pay the laid Pilot Two
Shillings and Eight Pence, for each and every Day he lhall be on Board the (aid VelTel, over and
above his Ptiotage. -

V. AN D he it further Enabled, by the Authority aforefaid, That when any Ship or Vefiel, bound

Diltempcr on BliHrd, the Mailer and Pilot of fuch Ship or Veil'd lhall give immediate Information
thcreol to the Comniiffioncrsof the Navigation of the Port they are bound to; and the laid Commif-
fioncrs, or any Thtreof them, aie hereby impowered aud direfted to order and command the faid
Matter of fuch Ship or VelTel to perform Quarcniinc with his laid VelTel, at fuch Place, and Number
of Days, a. they lhall think" neeeffary : And if (he fnid Mailer or Pilot lhall neglect or refufe to give
fuch Information, they Hull forfeit and pay the Sum of One Hundred Pounds, Proclamation Money ;
to he recovered and applied in the fame Manner as other Fines and Forfeitures a.ednccted in the
before recited Act.
