week paid a visit to 78th
Division headquarters to
confer with General Parker
and Lt. Col. C.C.B. Warden,
Division Adjutant General.
With Colonel dc Lorimicr
came Captain Clarence
Distlinc, XII Corps Classi¬
fication Officer. Both
officers were visiting the
"Lightning" Division for
the first time since its
reactivation, August 15th.

vices.

Floyd Newkirk, one-time
Yankee pitcher, is working
on the recreation program.
With the grunt-and grean
boys, the crowd that pre¬
fers to slug it out, the
quick ones who smash
balls or birds over nets,
and the toss-and-dribblc
gang, the Field House has
proved so popular that
plans arc now being made
to provide an equitable
use of the building.
Its popularity is app¬
arent both among the men
of the 78th and the stat¬
ion complement. The 78th
has been allotcd use of
the Field House a fair
proportion of the avail¬
able time.

will now be able to use
