Acquisition: Donated by William L. Flourney, Jr., 520 Polk Street,
Raleigh, North Carolina 27604, on October 2, 1986;
accessioned by the Archives on November 25, 1986.
Description: The collection contains postcards showing North Caro¬
lina scenes primarily of tourist attractions from the
coast and the mountains. The only non North Carolina
subjects are the North Carolina Monument at Gettysburg,
Pennsylvania, and a few scenes of the Tennessee-North
Carolina border in the Great Smoky Mountains National
Park. The collection is arranged alphabetically by
town and place name and range from Asheville to
Wrightsville Beach. There are a few miscellaneous
postcards at the end of the collection.
