The past year has been outstanding
so far as new construction work in
North Carolina is concerned — new
homes, business and office buildings,
hospitals, schools, factories, power
plants, bridges, roads, water and sew¬
age facilities and many other items.
These projects have given employ¬
ment to many thousands of people and,
needless to say. they have run into big
money.
Here in North Carolina we have an
organization known as the Carolinas
Branch of the Associated General Con¬
tractors of America, the largest group
of contractors in the country. Practi¬
cally all of the well-known contractors
in North and South Carolina arc mem¬
bers. And. to insure still further co¬
operation, most of the material and
supply people in this area arc associate
members.
