EASLEY ANNOUNCES L1LLINGTON WILL RECEIVE $1,334,000 STATE GRANT FOR WASTEWATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS RALEIGH - Gov. Mike Easley today announced that the Town of Lillington will receive $1,334,000 from the High Unit Cost Grant Account for wastewater system improvements. “These funds will allow the Town of Lillington to make much-needed investments in its infrastructure,” Easley said. “This type of investment is key to the area’s success in pursuing economic development opportunities and for improving the environmental performance of its facilities.” The grant will assist with construction of the North Harnett Regional wastewater treatment facility including the Neills Creek Interceptor and a 5.6 million gallons per day upgrade to the Lillington wastewater treatment plant.
