EASLEY REAPPOINTS LEE AND FOSTER TO THE STATE COUNCIL ON DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES RALEIGH - Gov. Mike Easley has reappointed Keisha M. Lee of Williamston and Monica J. Foster of Charlotte to the North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities. Lee is a literacy volunteer and former teacher. She is a member of the N.C. Disability Action Network and TASH, an international association of people with disabilities, their family members, other advocates and professionals. She received her bachelor’s degree in business and marketing and certification in three areas of teaching from East Carolina University. Foster is an information and referral coordinator for Programs for Accessible Living. She is a member of the American Association of People with Disabilities, the National Council for Independent Living, the Spina Bifida Associations of America and North Carolina, Cabarrus Accessibility Action Committee and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Advocacy Council for People with Developmental Disabilities. Foster received a bachelor’s degree in writing from Pfeiffer University. The Council on Developmental Disabilities advises the secretary of the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services on coordinating, planning and delivery of state-funded programs that provide service to persons with developmental disabilities.
