Hailing from the small town of Lithonia, Georgia, Gregory began his career as a salesman, going door to
door with everything from encyclopedias to vacuum cleaners. It was not until 1982, at the age of 35, that
Gregory's friends convinced him to do an open mic night at the Punchline, an Atlanta comedy club. He
was an instant hit.
Since that fateful night way back when, Gregory has been working hard at being the "Funniest Man in
America", poking fun at everything from health fanatics to animal rights activist. Gregory's “front porch
humor” is based on real life experience. He tells the stories we all know, wherever we’re from. Gregory says
"I want to make the whole country laugh.”
Gregory will take the stage at the Broyhill Qvic Center in Lenoir on Saturday, J anuary 16 at 7:30 pm.
