CONTINUING EDUCATION REMINDER &
2017/2018
LICENSE RENEWAL
(NOTE: This message is being sent lo ALL LICENSEES, including those that have already satisfied the continuing education
requirement.)
The new fiscal year starts on July 1, 2018 and ends on June 30, 2019. Evidence of 4 hours of approved continuing education
(CE) INCLUDING THE MANDATORY 2-HOUR COURSE ON NC AUCTIONEERING LAW AND RULES, ETHICS, AND
CUSTODIAL ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT’ must be received in the NCALB office by 5 p.m. on May 15, 2018. Many CE
providers report participants' CE hours to NCALB themselves. You may also tax (919-567-2865) or email (info@ncaib.org)
your CE hours to NCALB. If you have carry over hours from last year, they will count toward the current requirement.
All NCALB approved CE courses whose scheduling NCALB has been advised ot are listed on the NCALB website
at http://www.ncalb.oro/contEd.cfm. This list includes on-going online CE programs.
On or before May 30, 2018, renewal applications will be mailed to those who have satisfied their CE requirements. PLEASE
write legibly so that the correct information is documented for you. In addition to the standard mail-in renewal option, the
renewal application you receive in the mail will include instructions for OPTIONAL online renewal and payment as an
alternative renewal method.
’ This 2-hour mandatory course can be viewed by clicking the link on the Board's website at www.NCALB.org. After watching
the video, be sure to return to the homepage and click the link to download the Course Completion Certification form. Print,
complete, and sign that form, and send it to NCALB by fax, email, or mail. (This mandatory course satisfies 2 of the 4 CE
hours required in order to renew a license.)
There are 2 live FREE 4-hour CE program opportunities still available to attend, and both include the mandatory 2-hour Law
S Rules course.

NCDOT ADVERTISES DISPOSAL OF RESIDUAL PROPERTY OPPORTUNITY FOR LICENSED
AUCTIONEERS/ AUCTION FIRMS
The North Carolina Department of Transportation desires to engage three (3) qualified North Carolina Licensed Real Estate
Brokers and Three (3) North Carolina Licensed Real Estate Auctioneers or North Carolina Licensed Real Estate Auction
Firms to be part of a Pilot Project to dispose of Residue Property as described in Section 2.(b) of House Bill 501 ratified in the
2017 session of the North Carolina General Assembly which reads as follows: “Pilot Program to Reduce Inventory of DOT
Residue Property. - No later than January 1 , 201 8, the Department shall establish a pilot program for disposing of residue
property in accordance with Section 1(a) of this act. In implementing this pilot program, the Department shall prepare a
request for proposals to select three real estate brokers and three real estate auctioneers or real estate auction firms to
dispose of a representative sample of residue properties, selected by the Department, consisting of at least 15 Class A
properties, 30 Class

properties, and 45 Class C properties distributed throughout the State. If the quantity of residue
property in each class is insufficient to satisfy this minimum, the Department may set a minimum based on the quantity of
residue properties available. The term for the initial contracts awarded shall be 180 days."
Any Entity wishing to be considered must be properly registered with the Office of the Secretary of State and with the
