H 1261 Private hauler fee lowered GS 20
Introducer: Barbee Sent to Transportation
"To amend G.S. 20-88 (b) to reduce motor vehicle registration fees on private
hauler property carrying vehicles. " Amends indicated subsection to lower fees for
indicated class of vehicles as follows: for private hauler up to 4 , 500 . pounds,
from $.40 to $.30; 4,501 to 8,500 lbs., from $.50 to $.40; 8,501 to 12,500 lbs.,
from $.63 to $.50; 12,501 to 16,500 lbs., from $.88 to $.70; and over 16,500 lbs.,
from $1 to $.80. Effective Jan. 1, 1976.
H 1262 Tear gas use by security guard GS 14, 74A, 74B
Introducer: Edwards Sent to Rules
"To give security guards permission to use mace." Amends GS 14-401.6 to
exempt security guards "sanctioned" under GS Ch. 74A and 74B (company police and
private (protective services) from that section's prohibition against possession, use,
sale, etc. of tear gas.
H 1263 Brooks Phillips reimbursement APPROPRIATION
Introducer: Nash Sent to Rules
"To reimburse Brooks Phillips for damages incurred as a result of activities
by law enforcement officers." Appropriates $9,249.13 from General Fund to Dep't of
Transportation to reimburse Brooks Phillips for expenses incurred from injury
suffered in 1972 bus hijacking.
H 1264 Gov't parking deck project bonds (Iden. to S 930) GS 143, -146, 142, APPROPRIATION
Introducer: Love Sent to Appropriations
"To establish financing authority for a parking deck within the state
government complex." Authorizes Sec'y of Administration to construct parking deck
within state gov't complex, to set parking fees and to issue up to $2.3 million
in revenue bonds for construction of facilities; bonds to be paid .solely from
revenue derived from project. (Originally, this project was included in the
capital improvements budget bill but was deleted from that bill to be financed
entirely on self-liquidating basis.)
