Description

These photographs are grouped together into the Hunting subject. Photographs depict people hunting at various hunting camps in eastern and western North Carolina. Camp Bryan is seen as well as an unidentified deer hunting camp in Hyde County. A woman identified as Marion Boggs of Waynesville, North Carolina is seen aiming a gun up to the sky while bird hunting. Several men are seen hunting crocodiles at Lake Ellis Simon. This collection of photographic negatives and prints is made up of the photographs taken and overseen by Herbert Hutchinson Brimley (1861-1946) for the Department of Agriculture, the North Carolina Geological Survey and the State Museum. The photographs in this collection are arranged alphabetically by topic, beginning with Agriculture and ending with World War II.
