EASLEY REAPPOINTS COPELAND AND PULLIAM AND APPOINTS BEDSOLE TO HEALTH COORDINATING COUNCIL RALEIGH - Gov. Mike Easley has reappointed Dana D. Copeland of Raleigh and T.J. Pulliam of Winston-Salem and appointed Bill Bedsole of Washington to the North Carolina State Health Coordinating Council. Copeland is a pathologist at Raleigh Pathology Laboratory Associates. He is a member of the WakeMed Corporate Board, chair of the WakeMed Joint Committee on Quality Care and associate editor of the N.C. Medical Journal. Copeland received his Bachelor’s degree in biology and history from Rice University in Houston, Texas, his postgraduate degree in experimental oncology from Duke University and is a graduate of Duke University Medical School. Pulliam is a staff physician at Northwest Digestive Health. He received his Bachelor’s degree in biology from Stanford University and is a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Bedsole is chief executive officer for Beaufort Regional Medical Authority. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and president and chairman of the Board of Southeastern Healthcare Assets, Inc. Bedsole received his Bachelor’s degree in business administration from UNC at Pembroke. The board develops a draft plan for state medical facilities that is recommended annually to the governor. The council holds hearings on the draft plan and responds to public comments. The board has 27 members, each serving a three-year term.
