Mike Easley appointed Roger Dale Cole of Hickory and Terry Allen Hall of New Bern to the North Carolina Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists Board of Examiners. Cole is an otolaryngologist at the Graystone Ear, Nose and Throat, Associates P.A. He previously worked at the naval hospital at Camp Lejune and was a general medical officer with the United States Navy Department of Defense. Cole received bachelor’s degree from Northern Michigan University in 1984, his doctor of medicine from Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University in 1988 and he completed his residency in otolaryngology at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in 1995. Hall has been the director of audiological services at Coastal Ear, Nose and Throat Associates, P.A. since 1980 and adjunct professor with the speech and hearing department at East Carolina University since 1983. Hall received his associate’s degree from Itawamba Junior College in Mississippi in 1976, his bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi in 1978, his master’s degree from the University of Mississippi in 1980 and his doctorate from the University of Florida in 2000. The North Carolina Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists Board of Examiners must help safeguard the public from unauthorized persons and unprofessional conduct on the part of qualified speech-language pathologists and audiologists in North Carolina. The board must assure the availability of the highest possible quality services to people who have difficulty communicating with others.
