"To amend G.S. 55B-2 so as to include registered foresters under the provi¬
sions of the Professional Corporation Act." Amends GS 55B-2(6) to include foresters
among licensed professionals who may provide services as professional corporation
under GS Ch. 55 (Business Corporation Act) and GS Ch. 55B (Professional Corporation
Act) .

"To resticucture and rename the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs as
the Department of Crime Control, Public Safety and Veterans. " Adds new Art. 10 to
Ch. 143B creating Dep't of Crime Control, Public Safety and Veterans to aid veterans
and to provide police protection and emergency services during disasters. Dep't to
contain (1) present Dep't of Military and Veterans Affairs; (2) Governor's Law and
Order Comm'n, Law and Order Section, Criminal Justice Information System Board, and
Criminal Justice Information System Security and Privacy Board, all transferred from
Dep't of Nat'l and Econ Resources; (3) State Highway Patrol, transferred from Dep't
of Transportation; (4) State Board of Alcoholic Control Enforcement Div., transferred
from Dep't of Commerce.

officers" appointed by State Board of Alcohol Control), Director of Alcohol Law
Enforcement Div., and assistants with same powers as now. Makes Dep't responsible
for planning electronic communications system linking state and cooperating local
agencies. Effective April 1, 1977.
H 120 Governor's Crime Comm'n created (Iden. S 62) GS 143B
Introducer: Davenport Sent to Law Enforcement
"To establish the Governor' s Crime Commission by amending and rewriting G.S.
143B-337 and renaming, restructuring and redefining the purposes of the Governor's
Law and Order Commission." Rewrites GS 143B-337 to replace Governor's Law and Order
► Comm'n with Governor's Crime Comm'n, to be located in new Dep't of Crime Control,
Public Safety and Veterans (H 119 and S 61, digested in today's Bulletin, create new
Dep't). Comm'n to include 28 voting members: Governor, Chief Justice (or alternate),
Attorney General, Director of AOC, Sec'y of Correction; one superior court judge, one
