H 779 Sales tax limit on cars removed-2

"To remove the $120 sales tax limit on the sale of aircraft, boats, railway equip¬
ment, or motor vehicles other than tractor-trailer rigs, which shall become subject to a
$250 limit." Amends GS 105-164.4(1) to repeal provision limiting tax on sale of aircraft,
railway locomotive, railway car, motor vehicle or boat to $120 (has effect of imposing 2%
tax, based on sale price) but provides that tax on tractor-trailer rig designed primarily
for use on highways not to exceed $250 (applies maximum tax to tractor and trailer or
semi-trailer, individually). Effective July 1, 1977.
H 780 Preventive dentistry personnel, funds APPROPRIATION, GS 130
Introducer: Chase Sent to Appropriations
"To appropriate funds to the Department of Human Resources to supplement the
preventive dental health program and supportive services . " Appropriates $182,000 in
fiscal 1977-78 and $370,000 in 1978-79 to Dep't of Human Resources from General Fund for
employment of 20 additional public health dental hygienists (ten in each fiscal year) ,
necessary supplies and equipment and travel funds to supplement Dep't's preventive dental
health program. Effective July 1, 1977.
H 783 Glaucoma, diabetes detection funds (Iden. S 443) APPROPRIATION, GS 130
Introducer: Auman Sent to Health
"To provide a comprehensive glaucoma and diabetes detection, and a diabetes
control program." Adds new Art. 30 to GS Ch. 130 to require Dep't of Human Resources to
establish program of glaucoma and diabetes detection and control; program to complement
existing community resources and concentrate on high-risk groups. Sets out d ties of
Dep't, including education of health care personnel, development and expansion of programs
and furnishing of supplies for programs. Empowers Dep't to adopt regulations. Appropriates
to Dep't from General Fund $254,000 in fiscal 1977-78 and $1.2 million in 1978-79 to con¬
i' duct program. Effective July 1, 1977.
