THE Mi is ippi !ndu trial College was founded in 1905 by
Bishop E. Cottrell, of the Colored Methodj t Episcopal
Chureh. There were 14 teachers and an enrollment of
nearly 500 pupil in 1909. Twenty of the tudents were in the
theological d partment. The annual expen e are $15,000,
ecured largely from public ollection. The institution has a
farm of one hundr d and ten acre, worth $20,000; two brick
building, W rth 60.000; other property, worth $10,000.

The in titution now need a large tock barn to accommodate
at Ie. t forty hoI' and the arne number of milch cow, with all
the modern equipments and improvements for uch building.
It need a ho pital to care for the ick; n ed a brick machine
with a ufE 'ient capacity to make brick for additional bujld-ings;
needs at least eight hundred or a thousand more acres of
land for agricultural purpose .
The in titution has been mainly built and fostered by public
collections of the masse. It is a struggle to maintain such a
school with no other source from which to draw, and a million
dollars endowment is wanted for it.
Industrial shops are needed, such as carpenter shop, blacksmith
shop, and tools sufficient to equip the same. The students
