B. 156, a bill authorizing the Asheville Chamber of Commerce, Inc., to operate, conduct, and maintain annually the Rhododendron Festival in the city of Ashe-ville, with a favorable report. S. B. 263, a bill providing for the advertisement of delinquent taxpayers for the years 1932 and 1933, where such advertisement has not been made, with a favorable report. INTRODUCTION OF BILLS AND RESOLUTIONS Bills and resolutions are introduced, read the first time, and disposed of as follows : By Senator Allsbrook: S. B. 270, a bill to enable a guardian, or other fiduciary, to purchase real estate for his ward or estate in foreclosure sales of deeds of trust and mortgages held by a guardian or fiduciary. Referred to Committee on Judiciary No. 2. By Senator Steele: S. B. 271, a bill to amend the charter of the city of States-ville, Iredell County, North Carolina. Referred to Committee on Counties, Cities and Towns. By Senator Gravely: S. B. 272, a bill to permit the sale and use of hog cholera virus in Nash County under certain conditions. Upon motion of Senator Gravely, the rules are suspended and the bill is placed upon its immediate readings. Passes its second and third readings and is ordered sent to the House of Rep-resentatives. By Senator Folger: S. B. 273, a bill to provide for the holding of courts of Surry County, North Carolina. Referred to Committee on Courts and Judicial Districts. By Senators Newman, Dunn, Carson and Burrus: S. B. 274, a bill to create the State Port Authority of North Carolina as an agency of the State; to define its powers and duties; to permit council or other governing body of cities and towns of the State to appoint traffic representatives and /or board of municipal dock commissioners; to define and limit their powers; to regulate the construction, altera-tion, etc., of wharves, piers, etc., within the port area; to regulate dredging within the port area; to exempt the property and income of the State Port Authority from taxation; to revoke all laws in conflict with this act and to provide funds for carrying into effect the provisions of this act. Referred to Committee on Judiciary No. 2. By Senator Griffin of Franklin: S. B. 275, a bill to amend Chapter 211 of the Public-Local Laws of 1933, relative to the salary of the tax collector and expense of collecting taxes in Franklin County. Upon motion of Senator Griffin of Franklin, the rules are suspended and the bill is placed upon its immediate readings. Passes its second and third readings and is ordered sent to the House of Rep-resentatives. By Senator Griffin of Franklin: S. B. 276, a bill to amend Chapter 215 of Public Laws of 1933, increasing the salary of the sheriff of Franklin County. Upon motion of Senator Griffin of Franklin, the rules are suspended and the bill is placed upon its immediate readings. Passes its second and third readings and is ordered sent to the House of Rep-resentatives. By Senator Griffin of Franklin: S. B. 277, a bill to provide for a study of jail conditions in North Carolina and the laws relating to the management of jails. Referred to Committee on Public Welfare.
