I beg leave to again most earnestly recommend that some other method be adopted for dealing with the young offend-ers, without placing them in direct contact with the vicious and hardened, whereby the youth is most naturally made a confirmed criminal. SANITARY CONDITION. It is intended that sanitary matters shall receive the strict-est attention at the home prison, as well as at all of the out-side camps. The physician in charge of each of the outside camps is given charge of all matters pertaining to the sani-tary condition of his camp, and is made accountable to the physician in charge of the Penitentiary for the faithful per-formance of his respective duties, to whom they make both weekly and monthly reports, all of which the physician in charge reports fully to the Board of Directors at each of their monthly meetings. For a full and complete exhibit of this department, I refer you to the excellent report of Dr. J. W. McGee, physician in charge of the Penitentiary. RELIGIOUS SERVICES. The usual religious services are conducted in the Chapel each Sabbath afternoon. The Young Men's Christian Asso-ciation, through Mr. A. M. McPheeters, Superintendent, and Mr. S. W. Whiting, Assistant Superintendent, and a number of other most worthy Christian gentlemen of the city, con-duct a Sunday-school every Sabbath afternoon from 2 to 3 o'clock. This school is eagerly attended, and, we believe, has done much good in building up moral and Christian character. After the Sunday-school, there is preaching and other religious services by a minister of one of the four prominent
