Mike Easley appointed Beverly Hall of Angier, Allen Mabry of Wilmington, Carmine Plott of Charlotte, Daniel Sprau of Greenville and Mike Wilkins of Cary to the North Carolina Radiation Protection Commission. Hall is currently chief of the radiation protection section in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. She is a member of the North Carolina Health Physics Society and of the North Carolina Society of Radiologic Technologists. Hall received her bachelor’s degree in health sciences from Campbell University and is a registered radiologic technologist and a certified public manager. Mabry is a nuclear safety engineer with GE Nuclear/Global Nuclear Fuels where he is the radiation safety officer for Wilmington operations. From 1987 to 1992 he served as a health physicist with the North Carolina Division of Radiation Protection. Mabry received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and his master’s degree in radiological hygiene, both from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Plott is a radiation protection officer at Presbyterian Hospital and at Forsyth Medical Center. She is a member of the American Academy of Health Physics, the Health Physics Society and the southeastern chapter of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine. Plott received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Va., and her master’s degree in medical physics from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colo. She completed her doctorate in health physics at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Sprau is a professor in the School of Health and Human Services at East Carolina University. He is a member of the International Radiation Protection Association, the American Public Health Association and the Health Physics Society. He received his bachelor’s degree in physics from Adrian College in Adrian, Minn., and completed his master’s degree in environmental health at ECU. He also completed his master’s degree of medical science in radiological health at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., and received his doctorate in environmental health management from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich. -more- Wilkins is currently a commissioner of the North Carolina Utilities Commission. He served as a captain in the United States Air Force from 1967-1971 and received an Air Force Commendation
