March, 1908, the Snow Hill In' titute acquired po se ion of 3,500
acres of land adjoining the regular school property, and entered
upon a cheme of renting the land and selling homes, thu
building up a community and securing an annual income to
the chool. For 1908, nearly one thousand acres were rented.
Farming, carpentry, wheelwrighting, blacksmithing, paintina .
brickmaking, printinO', sewing, housekeeping are talwht.
