Natchez College was founded in 1885 by the Baptists of Mississippi, and is under the control of that denomination.
The property includes a three-story building, with basement. and is located in the suburbs of Natchez on the Mississippi
River. There are three departments, Academic, Normal, and Common English, with a special teachers' course.

BEll1'IE ACADF~1Y wa founded in 1895 by Rev. Luke Pierce.
It i upported by Bapti ts. Pr perty, $10,000. Expen es,
$2.000, cured by tuition and contribution. There were
89 male and 132 female tud nt in 190 , the approximate
age being fourteen year. There are 2 male and 3 female
teacher.
The object of the academy i to prepare the students for
Chri tian work and to train them in indu tries such as cooking,
dre smaking, carpentry, printinr., etc.
Prayer meeting are held weekly. tudent are required to
attend divine ervice on unday, and unday- chool i held in
the dormitory every unday afternoon. There i preaching in
the building two unday evening of each month.

classes are established for the study of the Bible, and every student
is required to attend one of these classes. The daily sessions
are opened with reading of the Scriptures, singing, and prayer.
Northern Neck Industrial Academy,
Ivondale, Va.
J. W. TYNES, D.D., principal. This academy was opened in
October, 1900, under the auspices of the orthern Neck Bapti
t Association, and was later chartered by the General Assembly
of Virginia, and i now controlled by a board of nine trustees,
repre enting the Bapti t denomination. The school, with its
five building, is located on a plantation of one hundred acres.
The training in the school is announced by the principal as
"religious, moral, literary, and industrial." The enrollment
in 1908 was 2 teachers and 38 students, 22 of the latter
being in the theological department. Annual expense, $2,000,
secured from the colored Baptists of orthern Neck Association.
Work each day is begun with devotional exercises, at
which all students are required to be present.
