Corey Memorial Institute was founded in 1906 by the Negro Baptists of Tidewater, Va., and is supported largely by the Norfolk Union Baptist Association. Benjamin F. McWilliams is
president. Five teachers and 181 students enrolled in 1908. Annual erpenses, $5,000. Has three departments, primary, preparatory, and academic.
. The school is on 13 fine lots. located in the suburbs of Portsmouth, Va.
