American Missionary Association
GIRLS' DORMITORY AND TEACHERS' HOME
ONE of the olde t and large t of the secondary chool of the
American Mi sionary As ociation. Founded 1868. First known
as Lewi High School. In 1877, the institution was named
Ballard Normal School, in honor. of Mr. Stephen Ballard,
Brooklyn, N. Y, who gave the main building and equipment.
The property is valued at $50,000. In 1908, the enrollment
was 15 teacher and 575 tudent. The annual expense are
8.500. The A. M. . gave 7,600 in 1907-. Training i
