CHAPTER CLXVn.
Ar» Act to incorporate Manteo Lodofe, No. 8, in the city of Raleigh,
of the Independent Order-of Odd Fellows.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Car-olina,
and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the
officers wardens and members, who are at present or in futnre may be
of Manteo Lodge, No. 8, of the Indep.^ndent Order of Odd Fellows, of
the city ot Raleigh aforesaid, are hereby constituted and declared to
"be a body politic and corporate, under the name and style of '-Man-teo
Lodo-e, Number 8, of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows,"
to be located in the city of Raleigh; and by that name shall have
succession and a common seal, and may sue and be sued, implead
and be impU^aded, acquire and transfer property, and pass all such
bv-'aws and regulations as they may deem proper, not inconsistent
with the constitution of the United States or the laws and constitu-tion
of this State.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall be in force
from and alter its ratification.

An Act to incorporate Thaddeus Lodge, No. 5, of tlie Independent
Order of Odd Fellows, in the town of Clinton, Sampson coun-ty.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Car-olina,
and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same. That
the officers, wardens and members, who at present or in future may
be, of "Thaddeus Lodge No. 5, of the Independent Order of Odd
Fellows," of the town of Clinton, Sampson county aforesaid, are
hereby consthuted and declared to be a body corporate, under the
name and style of "Thaddeus Lodge, number five, of the Indepen-dent
Order of Odd Fellows," to be located in the town of Clinton,
Sampson county; and by such name shall have succession and a
common seal; and may sue and be sl^ed, implead and be impleaded,
