Mike Easley appointed Robert Hicks of Raleigh and H. Dale Almond of Wilson to serve on the Disciplinary Hearing Commission of the North Carolina State Bar. Hicks is a financial professional who started his own CPA firm in 1988. He provides accounting, audit and tax services to his clients. Hicks has served on the board for the Rick Park Housing and Hargett Street YWCA as well as the Entrepreneurs for Better Government Commission. He received his bachelor’s degree from Norfolk State University in 1974, his A.A. degree in business administration from Hardberger College of Business in 1979, and his master’s degree in business administration from Campbell University in 1983. Almond retired in 1994 as vice president for institutional advancement for Barton College. He directed and coordinated all private fundraising for the college. Almond is currently a member of the board and treasurer for the Wilson Community Health Center. He is a past member of the education committee of the Wilson United Way, the Wilson Chamber of Commerce and Wilson Chapter of the American Red Cross. Almond received his bachelor’s degree from Lynchburg College in 1957, his master’s degree from the University of Tennessee (UT) in 1961, and did additional graduate study at UT from 1967-1971. The Disciplinary Hearing Commission of the North Carolina State Bar hears complaints against attorneys in North Carolina. The commission enters orders of discipline in appropriate cases. There are 15 members, and the Governor appoints three members. Each member serves a three-year term. ###
