Mike Easley appointed Thom Mount of ? and reappointed Nancy Buirski of Durham, Oscar Barker “O.B.” Stokes from Sanford, E. A. “Tod” Thorne of Charlotte, and Denis Ventriglia of Wilmington to the North Carolina Film Council. Buirski is the executive director of the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival. She is a member of the ? Buirski received her bachelor’s degree in ? from ? Stokes retired in 2001 as the interim town manager for the Town of Lillington. He previously served as a service representative for American Refuse Systems from 1988-1997 and has served as city manager for both Sanford and Roaknoke Rapids. He is currently a member of the Sanford Rotary Club, Elks Club, and Exchange Club. Thorne is the president of Tod Thorne & Associates, Inc. and the owner of Thorne and Company Realtors. He he has served on the Governor’s Small Business Advisory and has twice received the Order of the Longleaf Pine. received his bachelor’s Ventriglia is an attorney in Wilmington. He is member of the North Carolina Bar Association and the North Carolina Leadership Council for the National Federation of Independent Business. Ventriglia is member of the Board of Visitiors for the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He received his bachelor’s degree in ? from ? and his law degree from ? The Film Council serves as a forum for filmmaking concerns and advises the Governor on matters that are related to enhancing and promoting the state as an attractive prospect to the film industry. The council also makes recommendations to the Secretary of Commerce regarding the film industry in North Carolina. The Film Council has 25 members, all appointed by the Governor, who serve three-year terms. ###
