Mike Easley appointed Catharine K. Lees of Charlotte and reappointed Brenda Kennell of Charlotte and Carol Lynn Marcus of Hillsborough to the Board of Occupational Therapy. Lees is a clinical manager of inpatient occupational therapy and the inpatient brain injury program at the Charlotte Institute of Rehabilitation. She is licensed with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy. Lees is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, the North Carolina Occupational Therapy Association, the Brain Injury Association, the North Carolina Brain Injury Association and the American College of Healthcare Executives. She received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Goucher College, her Master of Science in occupational therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her master of health administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Kennell is the director of rehabilitation services at Lincoln Medical Center and an assistant professor of occupational therapy at Lenoir-Rhyne College. She is licensed by the National Certification Board of Occupational Therapy, the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy and in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Lees received her bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from the University of Wisconsin and her Master of Administration in special education-early childhood from California State University where she graduated with honors, Phi Kappa Phi. Marcus is an independent contract occupational therapist and an instructor/clinical coordinator with Durham Technical Community College. She is a member of the North Occupational Therapy Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association. Marcus received her bachelor's degree in recreation and parks from Pennsylvania State University and her Master of Science in occupational therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy provides for the regulation of persons offering occupational therapy services to the public. The board consists of six members and are all appointed by the Governor. ###
