Description |
A group of young boys with floating toys looking at the camera from the swim area, circa 1950. Jones Lake State Park opened in the summer of 1939 as the first state park for African Americans, and achieved immediate popularity. In later years the park, like all other North Carolina State Parks, became fully integrated. |
