| Description | The NC Center for Geographic Information and Analysis, using the General Assembly-Information Systems Division data, developed digital voting districts files for the North Carolina. These data represent the boundaries of 1992 Congressional districts in North Carolina. Each district is labeled with unique district identification number. Block assignments were based on the plan ratified by the General Assembly in 1992 and used in elections 1992 to 1997. District boundaries were replaced with the 1997 Congressional plan for the 1998 elections. These data were joined with a standard 1990 TIGER Census block layer for each county. The county files were then appended, and unneeded interior boundary lines dissolved, resulting in a statewide districts coverage. |
