Matthew Moseley, son of Tully Moseley and Miriam Shipp,
his wife, was born in Princess Anne Co. Va. Nov. 19,
1755. He came to Dobbs Co. N.C. Jan. 22, 1777. He
married Elizabeth Herring Jan. 14, 1783.
Elizabeth Herring was the daughter of Joshua & Elizabeth
(Matchett) Herring; was born Sept. 15, 1762 & died
Oct 4, 1818.

Herring.
Sally Moseley, born Monday, the 8th of December 1783, died
Tuesday 23 of January 1784.
Alexander Moseley, born Tuesday, Dec 14, 1784. was baptized
14th Nov, 1830 and was ordained to the Baptist Ministry
May 1834. He died Feb 4, 1845 in Florida. He married
Janette Whitfield.
Col. Jonathan Moseley, was born Monday, Jul. 2, 1787. Died
April 17, 1862. married Dorcas Garland and had a big
family.
Joshua Moseley was born on Monday Dec. 6, 1790, married
Sallie Bryan and died in N.C. 1861. His wife died Aug.1,
1848. ["Sallie" Bryan is crossed and "Sarah Bonner" is written in its place.]
Polly Moseley, daughter of Matthew and Elizabeth Moseley
was born Saturday, 6th day of April 1792, early in the
morning. She married 1st a Hatch and 2nd a Taylor. She
died in La. Dec 24, 1843.
William D Moseley was born Saturday night the 1st day of
Feb. 1795, at Moseley Hall. In 1845 he was elected the
first governor of Florida. He married Susan Hill, daughter
of Thos. Hill of Wilmington N.C. May 23, 1828. He died
in Polotka [Palatka], Fla Jan. 4, 1863.
