Session Laws - 1991 CHAPTER 531 shall be so arranged and placed that the red light shall appear at the top and the green light shall appear at the bottom of the s ignaling unit- Provided, that all traffic s igns, s ignal s , markings , i s lands i and all other traffic -control devices in stalled or erected on s treets or highways Oft—the—State — highway— s ystem—with4ft—the corporate—limits — of a municipality s hall be s ubject to the approval of the Department of Transportation and be installed or erected in subs tantial conformance with the specification s set forth in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control — Devices — fof—Streets—an^ — Highways ,—©f—afty— s ubsequent revisions of the same, publi s hed by the United States Department of Commerce, Bureau of Publ ic Roads and dated June, 1961. Provided further — that the—Department of Trans portation—i« — authorized—and directed—to — assume—the—cost—©f — installing—aftd — erecting—sueh traffic-control devices provided the same are in stalled and erected with the approval of the Department of Tran s portation and in conformity with thi s section, and the Department of Trans portation is authorized and directed to assume the costs of altering existing traffic-control devices—on—the—State — highway— s ystem—to — conform—to—the—said specification s set out above. " Sec. 6. G.S. l60A-296(b) is repealed. Sec. 7. This act becomes effective January 1. 1992. Any nonconforming sign or other traffic control device in use on the effective date of this act may remain in use until January 1 . 1994. In the General Assembly read three times and ratified this the 3rd day of July. 1991. H.B. 662 CHAPTER 531 AN ACT TO CHANGE THE LAW PROVIDING FOR THE DISPOSITION BY LAUNDRIES AND DRY CLEANERS OF UNCLAIMED GARMENTS AND TO AMEND THE LAW REGARDING DISPOSAL OF UNCLAIMED PROPERTY BY SHERIFFS. The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: Section 1. G.S. 66-67 reads as rewritten: " § 66-67. Disposition by laundries and dry cleaning establishments of certain unclaimed clothing. (a) If any person shall fail fails to claim any garment, clothing, household article or other article delivered for laundering, cleaning or pressing to any laundry or dry cleaning establishment as defined in G.S. 105-85. or any dry cleaning establishment as defined in G.S. 105-74. for a period of 60 90 days after the surrender of such articles for processing, the laundry or dry cleaning establishment shall have 1095
