142 1903—Chapter 120—121—122. Election declared valid. Glared elected being greater than said townships were authorized by law to elect; therefore, The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact: Section 1. That the election so held for the Justices aforesaid is hereby declared valid and legal in every respect. Sec. 2. That this act shall be in force from and after its ratifi-cation. In the General Assembly read three times, and ratified this 16th day of February, A. D. 1903. CHAPTER 121. AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER THREE HUNDRED AND NINETY-EIGHT, PUBLIC LAWS OF EIGHTEEN HUNDRED AND NINETY-NINE. Chapter 3.16, Pub-lic Laws 1899, amended. Section i stricken out. New section in lieu Local board, personal. When to take charge. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact: Section 1. That chapter three hundred and ninety-eight (398) of the Public Laws of eighteen hundred and ninety-nine be and the same is hereby amended by striking out all of section one (1) of said act and substituting in lieu thereof the following: "Section one. That H. L. Cook, H. W. Lilly, Q. K. Nimocks, D. H. Ray and J. V. McGougan be and they are hereby appointed the local Board of Managers of the State Colored Normal School at Fayetteville, whose terms of office shall begin immediately upon the ratification of this act, and continue until their s-uccessors are duly appointed." Sec. 2. This act shall be in force from and after its ratification. In the General Assembly read three times, and ratified this 16th day of February, A. D. 1903. CHAPTER 122. AN ACT FOR THE RELIEF OP SHERIFFS AND TAX COL-LECTORS. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact: sherifls and Tax SECTION 1. That all Sheriffs and tax collectors who, by Tirtue of Collectors relieved their office have had the tax lists for the purpose of collecting the taxes of their respective counties in their hands* for the years What years. 1897, 1898, 1899, 1900, 1901 and 1902, and in cases of death or de-fault, their personal representatives, bondsmen or any agent
