1893.—Chapter 346—347. 335 CHAPTER 346. An act to amend sections one thousand four hundred and ten, one thou-sand four hundred and thirteen and one thousand four hundred and fourteen of "The Code" of North Carolina. The General Assembly of JSorth Carolina do enact : Sectiox 1. That sections one thousand four hundred and ten of code, sections "The Code" be amended by adding to the end thereof the words: at^eided!'^^'^ ^^^^' Provided, that when personal property shall consist of cotton, tobacco, Executor, &c., goods, wares and merchandise; state, national or municipal bonds, or ^rsonal proijerty the stocks in incorporated companies, the executor or administrator at private sale by '^ ^ ' obtaining order may, upon application to the clerk of the superior court, obtain an from clerk, &c. order to sell and may sell such personal property at private sale for the best price that can be obtained, and report such sale in the same manner as under an order to sell personal property for cash. Sec. 2. That section one thousand four hundred and thirteen of Proceeds of pri- "The Code" be amended by inserting after the word "auction" and Jonal^property by before the word "shall" in the second line thereof the words "or executors &c., to DG SGClllGG. Oy privately." bond, &c. Sec. 3. That section one thousand four hundred and fourteen of Public sales of " The Code" be amended by inserting between the words " all" and executors,' &c., to " sales" in the first line thereof the word " public," and by inserting o^clock'a! m^° and after the word "made" and before the word "and" in line four 4 o'clock p. m. thereof the words "except" that in towns or cities of more than In towns, &c., five thousand inhabitants, public sales of goods, wares andmerchan- ma^y be continued dise, may be continued till the hour of ten o'clock p. M. "^*^l ^^ o'clock r, p. m. Sec. 4. All laws inconsistent with this act are hereby repealed. Sec. 5. That this act shall be in force from and after its ratification. Ratified the 6th day of March, A. D. 1893. CHAPTER 347. An act to prevent the wrongful occupancy of dwelling-houses. The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact : Section 1.
