AN ACT TO CHARTER THE JAMESVILLE AND WASHINGTON RAIL-ROAD AND LUMBER COMPANY. Section 1. The General Assembly of North Carolina do corporators. enact, That Francis Lightfoot, A. A. Crookson, Francis Hand, Thomas Sparrow, Henry Holdship, and O. T. Waring and such other person or persons as may associate with them, be, and are hereby created a body politic and corporate by the name of the Jamesville and Washington Railroad Com-pany with perpetual succession and all other franchisee of the corporation, and they, or any three of them, be, and are hereby appointed commissioners to open books and to or-ganize a company by the name and style and title of the Jamesville and Washington Railroad Company. Sec. 2. The company is hereby authorized to construct, power to construct purchase or lease a railroad or railroads or part of railroad or railroads, with one or more tracks from Jamesville to Wash-ington through the counties of Martin and Beaufort by the way of Waring, and from either of the above named points to Raleigh, and to construct branches, no branch to exceed twenty miles in length, and connect the main stem and branches, or either, with any other railroad already built or hereafter constructed by any company incorporated, or to be incorporated, under authority of this or any other State, and
