10 Document No. 17. [Session without enjoyment to himself or the prospect of benefiting society. We do not propose, however, to pursue this subject, but merely suggest the idea for public consideration. We do, however, recommend that the State be requested to aid in the Asylum work, but not to assist in the support or educa-tion of orphans who are the children of Masons ; for those we propose exclusively to provide. The constant discussion of a discontinuance of the orphan work has a deleterious effect, and we therefore recommend the adoption of the following resolutions : 1. No resolution looking to an abandonment of the Orphan Asylum work shall be acted upon until at the next annual Communication after it shall be offered. 2. No other orphan shall be received into the Asylum, unless for special reasons within the discretion of the Super-intendent and Grand Master, until the number of the inmates shall be reduced to one hundred, and afterwards the maximum number shall be one hundred. Respectfully submitted, W. R. COX, JOHN NICHOLS, Z. M. PASCHALL, J. B. NEATHERY, R. T. GRAY, Committee.
