The Home is 3 miles from Murphy ; has 2 log cabins, with 4 rooms; ventilation by doors and windows ; stone chimneys ; water supply from well ; open fires ; can accommodate 6 ; now in charge, 2 ; able to work, none; helpless, none ; 1 idiot ; food in variety of vegetables, bread, meat and coffee, at weekly per capita of $1.75; keeper's address, Murphy ; receives $6.49 per capita in county claims monthly ; is satisfactory ; Dr. J. F. Abernethy is physician, at $10 per month ; on September 1, 1801, there were 2 inmates; admitted to September 1, 1892, none; deaths, none; discharged, none; can assist, 1 ; prem-ises in tolerably good condition ; has about 400 acres, fourth rate; in cultivation, 40 acres; 2 or 3 horses; crops of corn and oats; no shade ; manures saved ; no religious services; no children in Home ; no punishment ; no system of outdoor relief for poor in the county.
